Amanda is a strong and moving film, which, based on the worst possible event, tells a heartwarming story of moving forward - for David and Amanda, and for the whole of France.
David is a day laborer. He lives from hand to mouth, with various small jobs and is actually quite happy with it. But one fateful day, David's life changes completely: During a terrorist attack in Paris, his sister, Sandrine, is killed, and her boyfriend Lena is badly injured. In addition to the shock and pain, David is also given responsibility for his 7-year-old niece Amanda. David must try to move on in life and take care of Amanda. But can one bring hope back to a little girl who has lost the most important thing in the world?
