The Midwife

116 minutes 2017 6.7

Claire is a brilliant midwife with a natural talent for helping children into the world in a calming way. But as time goes on, her methods and professional ethics collide with the modern hospitals' demands for efficiency. Now that she has come closer to the end of her career than the beginning, she begins to feel uncomfortable with the development, and wonders if her skills are no longer in demand.

One day she gets a strange call, a voice from the past. Béatrice, who was her late father's extravagant and loose mistress, has important news that can not wait, and wants them to meet, 30 years after she disappeared without a trace. The very picky Claire and the untamed life-affirming Béatrice, who are opposites in every respect, must learn to accept each other. By cleaning up old secrets, they meet each other and make up for lost time.
