A good teacher is an artist, John Steinbeck said. And you probably remember her - or him - the teacher who went above and beyond. Such teachers need to be experienced to be believed. The film uses Inge Eidsvåg and his ideas on teaching and pedagogy as a starting point for a discussion about what constitutes a good teacher. Eidsvåg has been a teacher all of his working life, and is highly recognized in his field. The film maker, who is a mother of two, questions. And Inge Eidsvåg answers. How is the increase of reporting affecting the schools? What is most important in the encounter between teacher and student? Where is the school heading? These are questions that the film attempts to answer, and in a time where many teachers feel their positions threatened by abstract administrative goals and bureaucracy, the questions are more relevant than ever.
