Britt-Marie Was Here is about the pretentious Britt-Marie who has just left her husband for 40 years and is looking for work for the first time. The problem is that the only job she can get is as a cleaning assistant and football coach in Borg, a place hard hit by the financial crisis. Britt-Marie hates football, but when the local youth club desperately needs a new coach and is willing to give the job to anyone, then Britt-Marie sees her chance. When she is also invited on a date by a local policeman, there is no going back.
