Adult life skills

96 minutes 2016 6.3

Anna's life is stuck. Despite turning 30, she lives in her mother's garden shed. She hardly talks to anyone, and spends all her time making short films with her thumbs as actors. Something is missing, and it turns out that the life she lives is a way to deal with the grief she carries. But can an accidental friendship with an eight-year-old cowboy make her slowly begin to open up?

Adult Life Skills is Rachel Tunnard's first feature film, and tells a story about death that is as funny as it is sad. Broadchurch star Jodie Whittaker's role interpretation of contained Anna is as humorous as it is beautiful.
