Life as a dog has not always been the easiest. Especially for Wiener-dog, a dachshund who seems to have an unusually difficult time finding a stable owner. On an odyssey-like tour, the dog is led from home to home, owner to owner. Four character-driven stories are linked through a dachshund and its dysfunctional owners.

Todd Solondz is a master of raw and dark humor, but in Wiener-dog we also see signs of tenderness and affection in the story.
