Love Actually

135 minutes 2003 7.6

We are in London, five weeks before Christmas. The Prime Minister (Hugh Grant) falls head over heels for one of his staff (Martine McCutcheon), just moments after he takes over Downing Street 10. A writer (Colin Firth) goes to the south of France to heal his broken heart, and finds the great love in a lake. A well-married woman (Emma Thompson) suspects that her husband (Alan Rickman) is about to slip away from her. A newlywed woman (Keira Knightley) misinterprets the signals she receives from the groom's best friend. A schoolboy tries to gain the attention of the most unattainable girl at school. A widower and stepfather (Liam Neeson) tries to get to know the stepson again who suddenly became a stranger, while an office manager (Laura Linney) tries to do something about the distance love in the office. And an aging rock star (Bill Nighy) who has seen it all, hopes for a comeback late in his career.

They all make Love Actually an unforgettable film that not only tells one story, but where ten different ones are intertwined - of course while fate sticks in the wheels at the most inconvenient times.
