Countess Eugenia and her brother Felix moved around Europe while growing up, and through the travel business they adapted to a bohemian lifestyle. They decide to visit their uncle in New England, and in the meeting with the Puritan Wentworth family, a culture shock arises. And the most important question to ask is: What is the sibling couple's real motivation for the visit?

The Europeans is one of the production company Merchant Ivory's classic costume dramas about romance and intrigue in the USA in the 1850s.
