Testament of Youth
In the spring of 1914, the young, strong-willed and independent Vera Brittain fought to get in and study at Oxford, despite the strong opposition of her conservative parents. She is inspected by her brother and also the charismatic Roland Leighton, who shares her dream of becoming a writer. But her dream breaks when World War I makes its entrance into England, and a whole generation of young men sign up under the flag of the fatherland. While Vera is giving up her studies to become a nurse on Europe's bloody battlefields, she begins an intense relationship with Roland. A love as great as war.
