Nikolaj Coster-Waldau plays the insurance agent Max, who is to consider a case concerning the payment of a life insurance policy. Then he encounters the company Aurora, which offers the terminally ill the opportunity to die at will. The method is simple: you enter a secret luxury hotel, Aurora, and here an army of doctors and staff are ready to give you a beautiful end to life. Max is sick himself, and even though he loves his wife (Tuva Novotny) dearly, he does not get rid of the thought of Aurora. Without saying a word, he makes an appointment with Aurora and goes to the remote hotel. Here he discovers a disturbing truth, and it makes him question life itself, death and his own understanding of reality. With a desolate Nordic mountain landscape as a backdrop, a mesmerizing power struggle is played out for the right to life itself, reason - and love.
