But the police chief sees an opportunity, and offers Yan a job as an infiltrator in the triad led by his half-brother. At the same time, Ming becomes part of the police force, he who in reality has much stronger ties to the triad.

Internal Affairs II is the second part of the influential trilogy, telling the story leading up to the first film.
