Mother at War
One day, sheriff Meier (Ulrich Thomsen) knocks on the door to bring Kalle to war service for the German Empire, to which Sønderjylland belongs. But Erna does not want to lose the only one she has, and knows that if she is to save him from fate in the trenches, she must join herself.
Disguised as a private, Erna pulls out, but is soon discovered. However, Meier chooses to help her hide who she is, and the meeting with the soldier Anton Seiersen (Anders W. Berthelsen) awakens new and unknown sides in Erna, and her dark past comes to light again.
