Chess Story

110 minutes 2021 6.8

Vienna, 1938: Austria is occupied by the Nazis and the lawyer Bartok is arrested and imprisoned at the Hotel Metropol - the Gestapo's newly established headquarters. The Nazis know that Bartok has the codes to bank accounts containing huge fortunes. When Bartok refuses to reveal the codes, he is put in solitary confinement. Here the Nazis do everything they can to break Bartok. But what they don't know is that Bartok has smuggled a very special book into the room. A book about chess. It is the start of a deadly game between Bartok and the Nazis, where every move has a counter move.
