Samurai Marathon
The year is 1855, and the previously isolated Japan is facing change. When the threat from the American imperialists is discovered, a feudal lord announces a marathon to get the samurai in shape.
Samurai Marathon is based on the real marathon - known in Japan as Ansei Tooashi - which has since become a tradition. An epic tale of heroism and power struggles, directed by Bernard Rose (Candyman, Immortal Beloved) with music by Philip Glass (Stranger Things, The Hours).
