Nolan (Paul Walker) arrives at a hospital in New Orleans with his heavily pregnant wife Abigail, but what should be their happiest day quickly spirals out of control. The birth has a tragic outcome, hurricane Katrina ravages the city and the hospital is forcibly evacuated. While Nolan stands firmly next to the child lying in a respirator, a nerve-wracking and life-threatening battle begins against power outages, rising flood waters and invaders.
