Arne Næss' legacy
Norwegian philosopher Arne Næss lived from 1912 to 2009, and was a wellknown and beloved figure. He was a professor of philosophy at Oslo University and through his ecological philosophy he explored a deeper connection between humans and nature.
Næss believed that all life has value, and to understand nature we must enter into it, explore it, also the nature in ourselves. (Næss practised what he preached and used nature for rock climbing, aiming constantly higher).
