An elderly man and his grandkids arrive at a small and flat island at the border between Georgia and Abkhazia. A movie of few words where the action is in the images. It's about the big questions: life, death and love. It is an ode to work and farming.
A grand adventure about the bearcub Youk who lives happily with it's mother in the majestic mountains when tragedy hits. A landslide kills the mother, so Youk must manage alone. He pairs up with a gigantic, injured Kodiak bear, who at first rejects him. To the echo of gunshots and barks they start building a friendship.

But that is only the first and least challenging part of the penguins' fascinating and intricate reproduction. The March of the Penguins was an immediate classic in nature documentaries and received an Oscar for Best Documentary.
