The Seventh Seal
Black death ravaged Europe in the 14th century. The knight Antonius Block and his weapon Jöns are on their way home after a long and tiring crusade to the Holy Land. A day's ride from home meets the knight Death, but manages to negotiate a life deadline through a game of chess. With death on his heels at all times, Antonius meets Jof and Maria and their son, Mikael, who is part of a traveling juggling troupe. They offer him wild strawberries and milk on a forest slope, and Antonius experiences a peaceful time. He then decides to sacrifice his own life to save the juggler family.
