Kimberley Motley left her husband and three children to work as a defense lawyer in Afghanistan. She is the only foreign lawyer and the only woman with permission to work in the Afghan legal system. At first it was the money that lured her, but then it became, among other things, a fight for human rights that motivates her to stay, while threats and a country full of problems make it increasingly difficult.
