A soaking wet man seeks refuge in a restaurant. The staff have difficulty understanding him and he is clearly disturbed. The man's name is David Helfgott, and he is an outstanding concert pianist who was predicted a bright future. When he was little, he was called a child prodigy and he could play like no one else. But his domineering father traumatized him and it resulted in mental problems. The rest of his life was a struggle to rediscover his inner genius.

Shine is based on the true story of David Helfgott's life. The film received seven Academy Award nominations, and Geoffrey Rush won an Academy Award for Best Actor for his portrayal of Helfgott.

The film is not playable outside of Norway
