Blue Jean

97 minutes 2022 7.0

England, 1988. Margaret Thatcher's Conservative government is about to pass further legislation to stigmatize homosexuals. In Newcastle, gym teacher Jean knows that oppression is the last thing she needs. Coming out would now be unthinkable, and it could put her job at risk. When a new student starts in her class, whom Jean recognizes from the queer nightclub she frequents, the risk increases considerably.

Blue Jean won a number of awards at the Venice Film Festival, as well as at the British Independent Film Awards, and was nominated for a BAFTA for Best Debut Film.

The film is not playable outside of Norway
