The Deep Blue Sea

98 minutes 2011 6.2

Hester Collyer lives a privileged life in 1950s London, as the beautiful wife of the respected judge Sir William Collyer. But when love strikes with full force, she can do nothing but follow her heart. To the great shock of those around her, she leaves the marriage and moves in with the young former fighter pilot Freddie Page.

The Deep Blue Sea is a study in forbidden love, repressed desire and fear of loneliness, after Terence Rattigan's classic game of the same name. Trapped between two completely different lives, which - or who - should she choose?
