40-year-old Xavier lives an irresponsible life side by side with his career as a writer. However, his inner bohemian is challenged more than usual when his wife Wendy suddenly leaves him and moves with the children to New York to start anew with a new husband.
Xavier realizes that he cannot live without his family, and there is no way around it. He must also move to the American metropolis to be closer to those he loves. He finds an apartment in Chinatown and tries to earn a living, but it does not take long before the spoiled Frenchman faces new challenges.
