We are in Havana in the mid-90s. The older couple Candelaria and Victor Hugo love each other, but the strict trade embargo forced on Cuba hangs like a dark cloud over their everyday lives. But when Candelaria finds a forgotten video camera in the hotel where she works, the movie and their life get a new spark.
Through the camera lens, Candelaria and Victor catch each other's eyes and begin to live again. They explore the reality around them and get their thoughts away from their colorless surroundings. So, when the camera is stolen one day, Victor is forced to go to the district of El Hormiquoe, where stolen items might be found.
Candelaria is a warm love story, with a beautiful visual expression in which every moment is a beautiful picture. A story about rediscovering life, and about how small pleasures can make a big difference even during great destitution.
