The Gold rush

80 minutes 1925 8.1

The Gold Rush from 1925 was the film Chaplin himself hold the highest. In the movie he demonstrates his amazing ability to create comedy and humor out of the most tragic situations. Which has resulted in some of the most comical moments in film history. Who can forget the scene where Charlie and Big Jim have an expired boot for Thanksgiving dinner? But it is also the sentimental scenes that make the film something much more than a pure comedy. The most famous is probably the legendary bread dance Charlie performs in a dream sequence after his chosen one has failed him.
