A relationship complicated by Kumail's parents expecting him to marry a Pakistani Muslim girl. When Emily suddenly becomes seriously ill, Kumail is forced to make a choice. Should he focus on the relationship with her and navigate this medical crisis with Emily's parents, Beth and Terry (Holly Hunter and Ray Romano), or should he follow his own parents' wishes.
