The Kid

52 minutes 1921 8.2

The Kid was Chaplin's first feature film and perhaps the most touching of all his films.

The film tells the story of a mother - whose only sin was getting pregnant - leaving her child found by Charlie. He takes the role very seriously, and soon "father" and son are involved in a thriving business as glassmakers. The kid shatters the windows and Charlie repairs them. Eventually, child welfare comes on the trail of the little family, and after much drama, the child mother realizes that the little one is her son. She has now become rich and wants her lost child back, and promises a great reward. Suddenly everyone is looking to separate the tramp and the kid.

The film is not playable outside of Norway
