Svalbard 1962, 21 workers died in the explosion in the Kings Bay mine - what triggered the event is a mystery to this day. What if the explosion was no accident? It also led to the resignation of the Norwegian government; did they know something others did not?
A journalist in the newspaper Nordlys, Harrieth Hansen, is in pursuit of what really transpired in Kings Bay. A tape with a warning, one year before the accident happened, leads Harrieth and her colleague Oskar Stokstad to believe that the Soviet Union blasted the mine to show who really decides over the Northern Territories. The closer they get to the truth, the clearer it becomes that strong force are involved, and willing to go to the extreme to prevent the truth from being published.
