Bank robber Zeki Müller has been in prison for 13 months, and meanwhile a school has been built on the site where Zeki's friend Charlie buried the loot. To gain access to the school's basement and from there dig a tunnel for the change, he will have to take a job as a substitute teacher after the previous teacher jumped from the second floor.

The film has received several awards, including the Bavarian Film Award in 2013.
