In the winter of 1944, Oddmund lay in a cabin on the mountain as a pilot for twelve refugees. They were short of time, but despite good weather, Oddmund had ordered a stop to wait for his girlfriend Ragnhild. She arrived two days later, at the same time as it blew up into a storm. When they went on, Ragnhild could not handle the strain. Oddmund's rival Tormod came to the place to help her. But Oddmund hesitated and sent the convoy alone in advance, and the twelve perished. 15 years later, Oddmund's conscience drives him back to a settlement with the past. He is desperately searching for a way out of guilt.
