Arne Skouen's latest film An-Magritt is based on the first volume of Johan Falkberget's novel cycle "The Night's Bread". The main character An-Magritt is raped into life. The mother is sentenced to death and takes her own life, so the grandfather has to take care of An-Magritt. She grew up in a Norwegian mountain town in the 17th century, in a typical male society. She stands alone among men and must fight the same hard battle as them. She meets Johannes, and with him, love enters An-Magritt's life. Now an urge for buoyancy awakens in her that no one can stop. She no longer fights just against storms and cold.

The film is not playable outside of Norway
