A female Russian cellist is exposed of a bomb attack after a performance in Ystad. It turns out that she is the main witness in a murder case against a member of the Russian mafia, more specifically the son of the internationally wanted Leb Munchin. Wallander and his colleagues find themselves at the center of a war against a powerful international opponent with methods that are anything but gentle.
