Assumed Guilty (Rendition) is a thriller starring Reese Witherspoon, Meryl Streep and Jake Gyllenhaal, directed by Gavin Hood, the man behind Oscar winner Tsotsi in 2006.

CIA analyst Douglas Freeman (Jake Gyllenhaal) questions his job as he witnesses an extremely brutal interrogation conducted by the secret, North African police. The interrogator is the Egyptian-born American Anwar El-Ibrahimi (Omar Metwally), who works as a chemical engineer in the United States. Now he is suspected of being the brain behind a terrorist attack. Anwar's pregnant wife, Isabella (Reese Whiterspoon), has no idea about this interrogation, and she does everything she can to find her missing husband.
