The Conversation

114 minutes 1974 7.7

Harry Caul is an expert in sound monitoring. He is assigned to follow a young couple and record their conversation as they walk across Union Square in San Francisco. Harry knows very well that technology can invade privacy and therefore keeps work and privacy strictly apart. He even refuses to tell what he is doing and where he lives with his girlfriend Amy. Still, Harry's work begins to disturb him, he believes that the conversation he has recorded is actually part of an attack on himself, led by the mysterious director who has hired him to kill the young couple. He is seduced by a call girl who steals the recordings, and is now convinced that there will be a murder. From now on, he is completely unable to separate work from private life.
