We get to know a married couple in their 50s, played by Juliette Binoche and Daniel Auteuil, and their son. A completely normal family in a completely normal residential area. But one day they receive a video cassette in the mail. Some secretly film them. There are more cassettes and the letters accompanying the videos become more and more macabre and personal. The family tries to keep up the facade, but the unknown sender gets on their nerves, and brings out hidden sides of the family idyll.
