After becoming a widower, Frank Fogle (John Hawkes) reluctantly embarks on a journey to honor his late wife's last wish to have his ashes scattered across a remote lake in his native Ireland. He has also promised to take his estranged son (Logan Lerman) on the trip. With a disturbing Irish moment of remembrance, an old flame appearing, a beautiful hike and a lot of unresolved issues, the journey becomes more challenging than the father and son had anticipated.
