My Left Foot

99 minutes 1989 7.8

The film is about Christy Brown from his birth in 1932 until the summer day in 1959 when he meets his future wife, Mary Carr.

Cristy Brown was a writer, lyricist and painter and that is not uncommon in Ireland. The unusual thing was that he suffered from cerebral palsy and could not express himself through the first years of life other than by stomping with his left foot on the floor. Then he started drawing and painting using the same foot. And encouraged by his mother, he learned to use the same body part to type. Suddenly the sick boy had a chance to express himself.

The film is not playable outside of Norway
