Misbehaviour

106 minutes 2020 6.3

In 1970, the Miss World pageant took place in London, and was broadcast to more than 100 million viewers worldwide. The newly formed organization Women's Liberation Movement, claimed that beauty women were degrading and the group suddenly gained fame when the members stormed the stage and interrupted the live broadcast. Not only that - when the competition continued, it was not the Swedish favorite who won, but Miss Grenada, the first black woman to be crowned Miss World. In a few hours, a global audience could both see the patriarchy being driven away from the stage and a Western ideal of beauty be rejected.
