The 83-year-old Edie believes that there is no such thing as "too late". Therefore, she refuses to be sent to a nursing home and puts her old life behind her, packs her bag and embarks on the ultimate adventure: to climb the rugged mountain Mount Suilven in Scotland.
Edie is a wonderful and life-affirming film about stopping and enjoying and utilizing the limited time we have alive. Fantastic photos, strong characters and a heartwarming story form the framework for a mountain hike that is not only part of the film, but which actually made the protagonist Sheila Hancock the oldest person to have climbed Mount Suilven - in reality!
