Deep in the forest live the Tanukis, a very special kind of magical raccoons that can transform into almost anything. They live their lives in the hustle and bustle, but their harmonious existence is threatened when the development of a nearby big city reaches their territory. Something has to happen, soon there will be no more forest left! They come up with a cunning plan to scare away the builders, but the fearless warrior Gonta is impatient: He wants war. Pompoko is a tribute to nature and all the beautiful creatures that live there. The film is directed by Isao Takahata, who founded Studio Ghibli with Hayao Miyazaki.
