Teen idol and J-Pop star Mima Kirigoe is persuaded by her manager to test her wings as an actress and change her image. But Mima's fans aren't happy about the career change, and suddenly Mima is the victim of unpleasant stalkers as well as something even more unpleasant - a doppelgänger.

Perfect Blue is Satoshi Kon's (Tokyo Godfathers, Paprika) first feature film as a director, a psychological thriller in which exquisite animation carries echoes of Alfred Hitchcock and David Lynch.
