Criminalogy psychologist Kate Fuller (Olga Kurylenko) is assigned a case where a man is seemingly strangled by his wife in his sleep, and the only witness is their 8-year-old daughter Sophie. When Kate digs into the mystery of an ancient demon killing people in their sleep, she experiences the same symptoms as previous victims, and must go through a terrifying nightmare to save herself and Sophie before she can sleep again.
