Adam seemed to take care of everything. But while he is celebrating another promotion at work, he suffers a serious accident, and a spinal cord injury virtually paralyzes him from the upper body down. Adam feels crushed and thinks life is as good as over, and sees no prospects for the future. But the meeting with a new nurse (Lena Olin) will make him realize that life is far from over, in fact it has just begun.
