David Lynch: The Art Life

88 minutes 2017 7.2

This is a very candid portrait of artist and filmmaker David Lynch, who discusses his early life and the events that shaped his view of art and the creative process.

Lynch describes events and anecdotes from his youth that give us the best insight into his imagination. We follow his artistic development, from well-adapted youth with a growing interest in painting, to inspired but terrible years in Philadelphia with equally committed students, including his friend Jack Fisk. He believes that the offer from the AFI Conservatory saved his life - and that 'Eraserhead' was born.
