The Dissident

119 minutes 2020 7.8

On October 2, 2018, Washington Post journalist Jamal Khashoggi visited the Saudi consulate in Istanbul to retrieve his marriage documents. Outside the consulate, fiancé Hatice Cengiz waited in vain. He never came out again. In the days that followed, the world turned its attention to a conspiracy staged by Saudi Arabia's supreme leader, Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman.

The Dissident is Ikaros director Bryan Fogel's hair-raising depiction of a brutal murder - which also reveals the tactics of horrific dictatorships to silence dissidents around the world, from cyber attacks to assassinations.
