She thinks they are destined to be together, although she never knows when they will divorce: Henry travels in time - he has a rare genetic anomaly that makes him exist on a changing timeline, and bounces back and forth through his lifetime without control. Despite Henry's travels forcing them apart without warning, Clare desperately tries to build a life together with her only great love.
