In the wake of World War III, the earth's surface has been destroyed by radioactivity. In an underground research facility, our protagonist is held captive, and from there he is sent out on suggestive, poetic time travel.

Chris Markers La Jetée inspired Terry Gilliam's hit film 12 Monkeys, and is considered an important work in experimental film history, as well as the existence of the science fiction genre itself.
