Carol Ledoux, played by Catherine Deneuve, is a Belgian woman who shares an apartment with her sister in London. She works in a beauty salon and lives a quiet and secluded life. When the sister leaves for a few days, Carol is left alone in the apartment, tormented by inner demons and paranoid hallucinations.

Repulsion is Roman Polanski's second feature film, and the first English language, and the film put the director on the world map. It won two awards at the Berlin Film Festival and has been hailed by critics since its premiere.
