Based on a true story, Marie's Story draws the touching story of a child who received the label "mentally challenged" on the wrong basis.
The story is based on real events that took place in France at the end of the 19th century. 14-year-old Marie Heurtin, who was born both blind and deaf in 1885, is unable to communicate with the outside world. Her father, a modest craftsman, refuses to follow the doctor's advice to have her admitted to a mental hospital, after Marie is diagnosed as "mentally challenged". In his despair, his father contacts the Larnay Institute, where nuns take care of deaf girls. Sister Marguerite decides to take on the challenge of taking care of Marie.

You have unused loans this month, but your library has a limit of the total amount of loans that can be used by all loaners each month. That limit has been reached. We have notified your library, but if it chooses not to increase the limit, you cannot loan any more films this month, even if you have not used up your individual loans unfortunately.
