A bunch of teenagers, obsessed with celebrities, fame and fashion, break into or shop at celebrities in Hollywood. Driven by the desire to own the same clothes and accessories as their role models, they track their victims online and break into their homes when they are at a party or traveling. The dividend is designer clothing, jewelery, bags, shoes and other exclusive status symbols.

The film is based on real events about the gang of youth in LA who was referred to in the media as "The Bling Ring" after becoming the most active burglary league in Hollywood history.
